Frank Hollmann studied Chemistry at the University of Bonn, Germany and received his PhD from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich (Switzerland) in 2004. After a postdoctoral stay with Prof. Manfred Reetz (Max Planck Institute for Coal Research, Mulheim, Germany) and some years as R&D project manager at Evonik Industries (Essen, Germany), he joined TU Delft in 2008 as Assistant Professor (since 2018 as Full Professor). His research interests focus around the application of enzymes for chemical synthesis to attain environmentally-friendly synthesis routes. Frank Hollmann has received numerous awards for his innovative contributions to the field of Biocatalysis such as the Max-Buchner-Award (2014) or the Biotrans award (2017).
